Pre-1870 heirloom. Native to India and Southeast Asia, Balsam Impatiens made their way into American colonial gardens via Europe. Produces showy pink, red, salmon, purple or white camellia-like flowers on 2-2.5’ tall plants. They bloom all season until frost, grow best in sun to part sun, and are drought tolerant. A must for fans of Victorian gardens. Reseeds readily.
