Lavender Ballerina datura is an exotic, compact angel’s trumpet that produces upward-facing, fully double lavender blooms with ruffled, twisting petals that look like a little tutu.
Lavender Ballerina datura is an exotic, compact angel’s trumpet that produces upward-facing, fully double lavender blooms with ruffled, twisting petals that look like a little tutu. The flowers often unfurl toward evening and release a rich, lily-like fragrance, followed by ornamental spiky seed pods that keep the show going. Plants form a dense, upright mound about 2 to 3 feet tall and roughly 2 feet wide, thriving in heat and full sun with average moisture, and they also make a stunning container specimen. Blooming runs from summer into fall, and once established, it can handle short dry spells while still pumping out flowers. All parts of datura are poisonous, so situate it thoughtfully and handle seeds and plants with care.
