Original variety of lavender.
English lavender is a handsome and delightfully fragrant herb with cosmetic, culinary and medicinal value. The dried flowers and leaves repel moths and can be used in sachets. Use lavender leaves and flowers fresh or dried to make a soothing tea; add the dried parts to potpourris. Lavenders are excellent plants for borders, containers, rock gardens, and in mass; they also make a great low hedge.
