Details
Murasaki Purple is a heatless Japanese sweet pepper, grown for its dramatic inky purple pods and the matching purple blush on stems, leaves, and flowers. Originating in Japan’s Nara Prefecture, it produces tapered fruits that look fiery hot but are crisp and mild when harvested dark purple, then ripen to red with deeper sweetness. Plants are very productive and usually reach harvest in about 70 to 80 days from transplant, with good performance in garden beds or containers. Slice it fresh for color-rich salads, or quickly fry, grill, or roast it for a silky, sweet pepper flavor that steals the show.
