A fun edible addition to any garden! Reminiscent of spinach produces small crimson berries that are great for snacking or adding to dishes.
Plants are fascinating; the arrow-shaped leaves remind us that it is a relative of spinach and the flavor and nutritional profile are reminiscent of spinach as well. Young ripe berries will be mild in flavor and appropriate for salads and savory applications, allowing the berries to fully ripen to a deep crimson for a juicy sweet flavor. The very easy-to-grow and adaptable plants grow in a similar fashion to their wild cousin, lambsquarter. The leaves are a good source of vitamins C and A!
