Use this variety for fresh slicing, bright salsas, and especially thick sauces, coulis, and canning, where its dense texture really shines.
Aladdin’s Lamp is a rare Russian heirloom tomato, often listed as Lampa Aladdina or Grusha Oranzhevaya, and it earns its name with plump pear to lamp-shaped fruits that can be lightly ribbed and irresistibly whimsical. The tomatoes ripen to a glowing golden orange, typically weighing about 3 to 8 ounces, with firm, meaty flesh, relatively few seeds, and a sweet, aromatic flavor that stays pleasantly low in acid. Indeterminate vines are vigorous and productive, so stake or cage them well for a long season of harvest. Expect first ripe fruit in roughly 75 to 85 days from transplant, and use this variety for fresh slicing, bright salsas, and especially thick sauces, coulis, and canning where its dense texture really shines.
