Very productive heirloom that produces up to 8 oz, deep-red oxheart-shaped, meaty fruit.
This heirloom comes from an Amish community in Wisconsin, but was discovered in Pennsylvania, the heart of the Amish Country. It dates back to the 1870s. Amish Paste is high-yielding and produces 4-8 oz., deep-red, oxheart-shaped, meaty fruits. They are versatile, flavorful, and juicy enough for slicing, but meaty enough for cooking down to make sauce.
