High yields of red plum/pear shaped fruit, 1-3 oz. each, with firm dry flesh and few seeds.
An heirloom from the western part of New York State, originally from Italy. This variety was first offered in the Seed Savers 1991 Yearbook by Maureen Conway, NY who received the original seed from an 87 year-old Italian gardener in the Finger Lakes area of New York State, who was a true seed saver and grew this variety for many years. He received the seed from a friend who brought them from Italy many years earlier.
These compact determinate plants produce high yields of red plum/pear shaped fruit, 1-3 oz. each, with firm dry flesh and few seeds. Their flavor is very good and sweet. Great for canning, sauces, salsas and pastes.
