Details
Rebel Starfighter Blane’s Moonlight is a Russ Crowe, Vermont-bred selection from a cross of Lunar Mile and VT16 Rebel Starfighter, named to honor Blane Horton for his help in stabilizing the variety. Vigorous indeterminate vines produce heavily and begin ripening in roughly 70 to 80 days from transplant, so plan on a sturdy cage or stake for a long season of harvest. Fruits are mid-sized to small beefsteaks, often about 100 to 250 grams, with a luminous, metallic look and swirling green and red striping accented by dark anthocyanin tones where the sun hits. Slice one open for a rich, well-balanced tomato flavor that shines fresh, but also holds its character beautifully when roasted or turned into a vibrant sauce.
