Flavor is full and well-balanced, mild and sweet with that classic “dark tomato” depth that makes every slice taste luxurious. A special addition to anyone's garden.
Tasmanian Chocolate is a Dwarf Tomato Project favorite with stout, tree-like plants and dark green, rugose, regular leaves that stay a tidy 3 to 4 feet tall, ideal for raised beds and large containers. The oblate, lightly ribbed fruits typically weigh 5 to 12 ounces and ripen to a deep mahogany, brick-red brown with richly colored flesh. Flavor is full and well-balanced, mild and sweet with that classic “dark tomato” depth that makes every slice taste luxurious. Bred from New Big Dwarf crossed with Paul Robeson by Patrina Nuske Small and later selected and named by Linda Reid in Tasmania, it pairs pedigree with dependable productivity. Expect first ripe tomatoes in roughly 70 to 85 days from transplant, and plan on a sturdy cage since the heavy clusters can weigh down the branches.
