Also known as 'Red Ponderosa' and 'Henderson's Crimson Cushion.' Introduced by Peter Henderson in 1894, this is the original strain of Red Beefsteak. The large fruits can weigh up to 2 lbs, and have a nice balance of tart and sweet flavors. These tomatoes are excellent for tomato sandwiches or slicing on a platter. Great old fashioned taste!
