The medium-thick walls stay crisp and juicy, bringing a clean, fruity sweetness that is excellent raw and even better blistered in a pan or roasted until silky.
Lipstick is a sweet pimiento-type pepper, bred to set heavy crops even in cooler, short-season gardens. Compact plants, usually about 24 to 36 inches tall, load up with tapered, conical pods around 3 to 4 inches long that start green and quickly ripen to a vivid, lipstick-red. The medium-thick walls stay crisp and juicy, bringing a clean, fruity sweetness that is excellent raw and even better blistered in a pan or roasted until silky. Expect early harvests, often around 53 days for green peppers and about 70 to 75 days for fully red fruit, plus reliable production in beds or containers. Non-Isolated.
