Thyme is one of the most widely used culinary herbs. It is grown both as a decorative and a functional plant in many home gardens, and bees use its pollen to make delectable honey. It is easy to grow and adaptable to most soils and climatic conditions. Aromatic leaves season clam chowder, herb butters, flavored vinegar, meats poultry, stews, sauces, soups and dressings. It makes a great low, evergreen hedge. Thyme is also a great border plant or addition to a rock garden.
