This is one beautiful chili with a shape much like a sea star. With roots in Peru, this pepper has since become domesticated in Brazil. The squat pods can reach 2” in size and mature from green to bright red. Slow to yield, but by the end of the season, these plants are amazingly prolific. Using this chili solely for ornamental purposes would do it a disservice. Flavor is sweet, with apple like fruitiness and an eatable level of heat for most people. Packing looks and deliciousness makes this chili pepper well sought after by spicy foodies and gardeners alike. The heat does tend to creep up on you – more of a slow burn than a fast bite. The Brazilian Starfish would be perfect for salads, on cheese or pickled. One of the best tasting chilies we ever have tried. Non-Isolated.

SHU: 5,000 - 30,000
