This is the first yellow jalapeno pepper developed, from the Texas Agricultural Extension Service. The peppers are a beautiful golden yellow color before turning orange then red, making for a beautiful show on the compact plants. The peppers can be used at any stage. Jaloro peppers are just as hot as regular jalapenos but with a slight fruit finish. Oro means gold in Spanish, hence the name. Excellent pickled, for salsa or any Mexican dish. Jaloro is disease resistant to 6 types of pepper viruses.
