Tomato 'Barlow Japanese' Seeds (Naturally Grown)

These seeds were originally given to Roy Barlow of Shelbyville, KY by a friend who had smuggled them out of Japan following World War II. Roy planted the seeds each year after that. The variety, which started out as a “straggly looking weed” was developed into a healthy, disease resistant potato leaf plant. The tomatoes were so tasty, they became the main crop in his produce business. Mr. Barlow just called them his “Jap” tomatoes. His granddaughter, Brita Barlow, has been saving the seeds of this variety to keep her dad’s legacy alive. This tomato is a worthy legacy! Large meaty pinks, with an outstanding flavor. Brita calls them “the taste of summer.”
