The responsible pigment, Anthocyanin, naturally occurs in blueberries and is a powerful antioxidant. The fruits are ready to harvest when the skin turns bright rosy red on the bottom and the fruit is soft to the touch. These plants produce a bountiful harvest of cherry sized clusters.
