Monomakh’s Hat is a heavy bearing pink oxheart tomato. This Russian variety can produce tomatoes up to a pound and has very good flavor. This tomato is also known by its Russian name, Shapka Monomakha, which can be translated as ‘Monomakh’s Cap’, which was the crown of all Russian Tsars from Dmitri Donskoi to Peter the Great. Some sources translate the name as ‘Monomakh’s Hat’.
