The flesh is juicy and meaty with a rich, fruity sweetness and a well-balanced finish that tastes great sliced on sandwiches or cooked into a vibrant passata. Named for a beloved pet jumping spider, it is as memorable in story as it is on the plate.
Rebel Starfighter Dipper’s Delight is a compact dwarf tomato bred by Russ Crowe in Vermont from a cross of Rebel Starfighter Prime and King Aramis, perfect for containers and small beds at roughly 2 to 3 feet tall with rugged, rugose foliage. It sets round to slightly flattened beefsteak fruits painted in swirling green, gold, and red striping with dramatic dark purple shoulders when grown in strong sun. The flesh is juicy and meaty with a rich, fruity sweetness and a well-balanced finish that tastes great sliced on sandwiches or cooked into a vibrant passata. Named for a beloved pet jumping spider, it is as memorable in story as it is on the plate.
