Art’s Double Orange marigold is a compact French marigold that forms a dense, bushy mound about 10 to 12 inches tall, covered in fully double, frilly orange blooms that keep coming all summer into fall. This low-growing variety is perfect for edging beds, brightening borders, and filling pots, window boxes, and patio containers with nonstop color. Give it full sun and well-drained soil, then deadhead regularly to extend flowering; once established, it handles heat and short dry spells with ease. Like other marigolds, the aromatic foliage makes a handy companion plant in the vegetable garden while the bright blossoms draw in plenty of pollinators. Sow after frost, or start indoors for a head start, and expect flowers in about 6 to 8 weeks from planting.
